Can Love and Logic Not Exist Together?

I was on Facebook recently when I saw the status below:

“I guess loving someone is a continuous battle between the heart and mind - logic and emotion. The best way to handle it? Balance the two.”

I agreed with it completely
UNTIL I saw the following respond someone put to it:

Love and logic can’t be in the same isn't logical, when you try and make it logical you end up twisting the love, for yourself and the person receiving it...then you get left with nothing but emptiness and resentment.

It got me thinking...can love and logic not exist together?

But I think it has to...I know you can’t make love
“logical” but why shouldn’t love and logic exist together?
After all isn’t it the logical thing to have the heart and mind working together...right?

Isn’t that what protects us from getting hurt in the end?

However I strongly believe the status
HAS to true when it come to matters of the heart because if you are not logical when it comes to love you can end up getting hurt if you are not careful. This hurt and pain can lead to heartache which as we all know can equal to you becoming resentful.

Resentment is a terrible thing to have. It can turn us into bitter individuals because of ONE PERSON’s mistake. I know letting go of the past is an extremely difficult to do (I’m still battling it myself) BUT the more we hold onto the past the harder it is for us to move on with our lives, it can also cause us to rob OURSELVES of true love and happiness from someone who genuinely deserves it.

Remember going through life a bitter lemon
is always going to turn us sour people with empty lives.
“When you hold resentment toward another, you are bound to that person or condition by an emotional link that is stronger than steel. Forgiveness is the only way to dissolve that link and get free.” – Catherine Ponder

Logical thinking is what keeps us sane in relationships. It is as simple as that.

If we didn’t go into relationships with our eyes WIDE open then we would get hurt... we HAVE to be logical in certain situations otherwise we would ACCEPT behaviour that is unacceptable and tolerate things we never thought we would allow another human being to do to us for the sake of “love.

You have to draw the line somewhere and when doing this “love” doesn’t come into it!

A classic example of what I’m talking is being in a relationship with someone that you “love” even though they
DON’T deserve your love!

When it comes to this person you let your heart (which can mislead you) control the situation and not your mind... it is like no matter what this person does to you, you stay hoping things will go back to the way they use to be UNFORTUNATELY that is not the case... If it was meant to work out then it would.

“What's meant to be will always find a way.” – Trisha Yearwood

“If you love someone let them go. If they stay away then they were never yours to begin with. If they come back then they are yours to keep.” – Unknown

In some circumstances you have to cut your losses and

You have to be logical otherwise reacting purely on emotions can have dangerous consequences...
The longer we as individuals try to separate these two essential elements for the sake of “love” instead of letting them work in harmony with one another (like they are meant to) the longer you will continue to get hurt.

Love is a great thing to have but sometimes you just have to realise enough is enough!
If you willing to accept things that you usually
DETEST then ask yourself this...How much more can you take before you reach breaking point? And will it even be worth it in the end?

It is
ALL about balancing the two “the heart and mind - logic and emotion.” Allowing them to work in perfect harmony TOGETHER!

Depending on the situation (of course!) because sometimes you JUST have to act then think later.
But when you do need to use both (use your personal judgment to assess when this is necessary)
If you don’t it would like trying to force something that is meant to be together like bread and butter to be chalk and cheese which is IMPOSSIBLE!

I really liked this one because it so true and people need to apply it to their lives. Yet I must say I agree with the response that the person gave but only to a certain extent due to the valid arguments you gave. I really liked this quote also

I really don't know why it took me so long to read your blog.
keep it up Gem Gem
