Seriously Just WHY?

I've been meaning to post this up ever since I saw the picture below like two weeks ago but I really do have a memory like a fish (something I'm constantly battling with but fail miserably) so forget things at times. Plus I'm getting to go to university soon so kinda been occupied with that!

If you guys have been following my blog then you properly remember me posting an entry a while back entilted Just Why?
If you want to have a look at it to remind yourself or just to look at it here is the link

Bai Ling.

I still don't know what she is famous for *a bit like Kim Kardashian...oh sorry I forgot she is a "style icon" I cringed when I heard that*

I'm starting to think it is for her horrible dress sense I'm sorry if this sounds mean but it is just absolutely horrendous!

She did it again...why doe she continue to torture the public with her "personal" style?

She needs a personal stylist as soon as possible there is being invidual and there is taking it to far!

Inspiration - Who Inspires You?

I recently become a fan of Zoe Badley’s blog called QQUEEN OF HEARTS. Catching up her blog today I came across this entry about inspiration ...I started to wonder who my inspiration is and how they influence me to do the things I do.
(Please read some of her other blog entries if you have time she seems like a cool person even if I don’t really know her...)

*Plus her sense of personal style is A-MAZ-ING you can do nothing but like someone like that ...pretty and can dress what more can you ask for in a person!*

In Zoe’s blog she wrote the following:

“Inspiration takes many forms. It can be the rise and fall of a lover's chest while they sleep or the summer night you laid alone, watching the stars fall. It can be that one song which, without fail, makes you cry every single time. An inscription inside an old novel, so worn out that you can barely understand the words. A love letter that's tucked away in a dusty shoe box, hidden in the linen closet. Or maybe it's the change of seasons, when everything feels right and nothing hurts. Whether it's fleeting, brief or ever-lasting; there's no limits to its influence.”

I have always wondering where I get my influences to do most of the things I do then I realised why I couldn’t pinpoint where the inspiration came from.

It is simply...

I get it from everything and everywhere
AROUND me. Some people can openly say that one particular person or book or whatever it may be is their inspiration but I can’t. I prefer to draw it from different things that I see, hear, read and witness. So for that reason I don’t have an inspiration but instead I have several inspirations and each and every one of them is equally as important as the last or next place that I draw it from.

But what inspires you?

I would be really interested to hear everyone different influences.

Oh just before you leave this page take four minutes to watch the video makes you really see the bigger picture what is actually important in life.

Sorry...Just a Five Lettered Word?

I'm sorry.

I don’t know what I’m saying sorry for but I’m really sorry. But do you guys see where I’m going with this. Do you see how easy it is to say sorry to someone without actually meaning it?

Only God knows how many times I have apologised without meaning it because it seemed like the easier option. (I know you can all agree with me on that)
Classic example: I’m sorry I’m late...You’re not really sorry (or maybe you are?!) but you say it because it seems like the best and simplest way to solve the issue and avoid arguments.

It seems like word that once had so much genuine meaning has completely lost its value. It’s quite frustrating (and a little sad) that if someone says sorry to you now you have to question if they actually mean it or if they are only saying it because it is the easier option.

One way I think we can show the people we are about that we are truly sorry about how our actions or words (or both) have upset them is to
Sounds easy right? WRONG!!

One of the ways I’m going to try to show the ones I love and care about that I’m really sorry from now on is to express it through my thoughts, words and actions...
*I’m trying to follow my own advice before people think I’m trying to tell them what to do without doing it myself*

This means if let say for example sake I said something hurtful (my friends and family would argue that I’m not the most tactful person...I argue I just speak my mind arguably a bit too much sometimes...) to a friend and I hurt their feelings I would have to find a way to show them how sorry I was for hurting them.
But do not do it if...

1. You only going to use it as a substitute for actually having to say the words
2. It will please or make the person feel better

The only thing that will make the person feel better is a sincere apology
(and maybe I’m being a little bit *okay a lot* subjective here but oh well! I’m sure there are some of you that agree with me on this...)

Then it is up to the person to decide if they actually want to accept your “I’m sorry” or as I would like to see it from now on your gesture of apology.

Saying sorry is only half of it there is a lot more to it than just saying the words.

“Words are just words and without heart they have no meaning.” – Unknown

If all else fails just say sorry...

Is Patience Really a Virtue?

In the last few days various things have been happening in my life that has made me really start thinking about the commonly statement “patience is a virtue” and wondering if it is actually true or not.

I have always wondered about the validity of this statement and thought do people really believe if it is actually true or not or if they only believe in it to make themselves feel better when they have to wait to get what they really want.

Sitting here now I’m randomly thinking of examples that make me believe in it...
(Admittedly I think I have always had faith in this statement but I don’t know if I’m wrong or just really hopeful?)

1.Waiting to start a new job – With the current employment situation, for the sake of this example I am a recently graduated university student with a degree in Fashion. (I’m using Fashion as my example because I know how hard it is trying to get in to it...)

I have been looking for a job in my desired job sector for a little while now but because I know how I am as a person I choose not to just get a job doing anything apart from relating to my degree etc. But I need money so start working in a hotel in the meantime while still looking for a job in the industry.

(I know this is getting a little long but I know where I am going with this so stay with me please!?)

With my new job in the hotel I meet different types of people to cut a long story short I meet a guest who works with a magazine and is also a fashion stylist what “I” want to do...
She tells me that the magazine is looking for a new stylist and tells me to apply and is willing to help me because she likes me.
I basically get the job but is the job that much better because of how long I waited for it? Did my patience help me eventually get what I wanted? And more importantly I am really happy now?

2.Friends to partners – I have a male friend and the lines have always been blurred between us so we talk and decide to try being more than just friends. This example is harder to use because it not something that always happens but I want to give this a try and we will see if it works...

Did taking time getting to know my male friend properly when we were “just friends” helping our new relationship? Is being patient with him now he is my boyfriend going to help or hinder our relationship?

What do you guys think? Do you think I am completely wrong in my judgements? Can you think of better examples than the ones I have used? Have you got your own personal experiences that you can tell me about and most importantly did it make you happier because you waited for it?

I would love to know...

Music Videos

Its been so long since I last updated that the layout of pusblishing post has even changed! Thats not good!
Sorry I know I'm a very bad blogger since I orginally wanted this to be a constant thing but hey I can always try again right?!

Following a conversation with one of friends today and following the sudden inspiration from watching these two videos (that I will tell you guys about in a minute I'm back)...*(for now!)*

Plus I can't sleep so I'm up doing this...better time to start than any.

First Video : Kanye West - Power

This isn't the proper video but its the making of it so if you want watch the preview click on the link to Kanye's blog:

This is a very interesting...I LOVE the uniqueness of this moving painting/video. Its not your typical video but I guess Kanye isn't you typical hip-hop rapper or individual right?! I REALLY like this song (have to admit not at first but its grown on me...) I can't wait for the new album to come out. *I just realised he created the same buzz he has done with all his other albums oh he's good!*

The video seems like a power going on in his mind maybe a battle between good and evil maybe?!

#I'm Just Saying#

We all heard the rumours!

Next Video : Eminem ft Rihanna - I Love the Way You Lie

I can't find a link for this :( Damn you Youtube!

This video is weird to me straight up I don't really understand it!
(Who knew Megan Fox was an good actress?! And can someone please tell me is the guy in the video her husband or just looks like him?

I think the video is like closure for both artists since they have both faced their own personal battles in life recently or maybe I'm being too obvious and need to look beyond the surface a bit but I really DON'T care that much! I like the song (another one that had to grown on me...)

Back soon!
Have a good weekend everyone :)

Tupac Amaru Shakur

I don’t know what it is with this man but I ADORE HIM! It’s such a shame that a young talented life like his was taken away so early...

Whoever thought of the saying “The good die young!” clearly had him in mind when they said it.

There was just something about his personality and attitude that fascinated me about him. He just seemed like such a complex and interesting individual to have known.

His short but eventful life was littered with controversy but no one can deny the incredible talent that he was. It is just a pity that we didn’t get the chance to see more of the great things he would have gone on to accomplish in his life.

He was EXCEPTIONALLY artistic in various different ways... Actor, social activist and of course a fantastic rapper.

He was also an amazingly intelligent individual who loved to read and write. I have recently discovered some of the poetry written by him at the age of 19 in his book entitled The Rose That Grew from Concrete.

Below are a couple of the reviews I found on the book...

“They embrace his spirit, his energy...and his ultimate message of hope. The poems are passionate, sometimes angry and often compelling.”

“Here now, newly discovered, are Tupac's most honest and intimate thoughts conveyed through the pure Art of Poetry - a mirror into his enigmatic life and its many contradictions. His talent was unbounded, a raw force that commanded attention and respect. His death was tragic - a violent homage to the power of his voice. His legacy is indomitable - remaining vibrant and alive.”

These are my favourites:

In The Depth of Solitude

I exist in the depths of solitude
Pondering my true goal
Trying 2 find peace of mind
And still preserve my soul
Constantly yearning 2 be accepted
And from all receive respect
Never comprising but sometimes risky
And that is my only regret
A young heart with an old soul
How can there be peace
How can I be in the depths of solitude
When there r 2 inside of me
This duo within me causes
The perfect opportunity
2 learn and live twice as fast
As those who accept simplicity

I Cry
Sometimes when I'm alone
I Cry,
Cause I am on my own.
The tears I cry are bitter and warm.
They flow with life but take no form
I Cry because my heart is torn.
I find it difficult to carry on.
If I had an ear to confiding,
I would cry among my treasured friend,
but who do you know that stops that long,
to help another carry on.
The world moves fast and it would rather pass by.
Then to stop and see what makes one cry,
so painful and sad.
And sometimes...
I Cry
And no one cares about why

Here is a rare fact that I found about him: His favourite piece of music was from Les Miserables...I was quite surprised by this just goes to show you can NEVER judge a book by its cover.

He was exceedingly passionate about life and the believes he held dear to him, one of them being egalitarianism...This is very evident from his first album 2Pacalypse Now.

If anything can be taken from his tragic death is that life is short and tomorrow is not promised to anyone so make the most of it and the things that make you happy in life.

"I'm not saying I'm gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world."

"In life there are going to some things that make it hard to smile. But whatever you do, through all the rain and pain, you got to keep your sense of humour, you got to smile for me now REMEMBER THAT!

An absolutely beautiful mind, body and spirit that is dearly missed...Happy 39th Birthday ♥

I'm Backkkkk!

Guess who is back :)

Did you guys miss me?

I'm sorry to those who actually read my blog (if anyone...) my sincere apologies (my inablilty to be consistent is also the main reason why I have
NEVER been able to keep a diary for more than 2 months!)

Just an advanced warning the frequency of my posts won't be the greatest for a little while as I'm going through a little writer's block and can't think of anything meaningful to blog about...
*Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator style* "I'll be back" :P

But I really do want to try with this blog so the rebel in me is back with a vengeance!

See you soon!

Nicki Minaj

I’m sorry but can someone (absolutely anyone will do!) please tell me what the BIG fascination with this woman is?

It is just I’m having GREAT difficulty understanding why everyone likes her so much.

And no I’m not trying to be a hater but compare her to females rappers like Eve, Foxy Brown and dare I say it even Lil’ Kim (actually I’m not too sure about her but anyways...) there is nothing special about her.

I have TRIED to listen to a couple of her songs but I just couldn’t do it! I think it’s her voice that I find extremely annoying.

Either way I don’t understand why everyone thinks she is that great.
Or maybe it is just me and I missed the memo that everyone else seems to have received on her greatness. It like she has been able to get the attention Lil’ Mama WANTED from that stupid MTV Music Awards stunt!

But if there is a memo or something that is floating about then please kindly pass it along to me...thank you!

And... Maybe I’ll even CHANGE my opinion!

Until then I think I would rather stick to REAL female rappers like Eve and Foxy Brown...

He Can’t Love U...Can’t He Really?

Before I start this entry....I want to make one thing clear and that is I am a HUGE Jagged Edge fan!

So this post is not intended to offend any of their fans because that would mean I’m insulting myself as well!

True JE fans will know what I am talking about. The group’s second album J.E. Heartbreak (personally to me the best JE album ever released...does anyone remember Promise or Let’s Get Married?)

Anyways back to the point of this post...on this album there is a song called He Can’t Love U. Listening to my I-Pod one night the song started to play and I really started LISTENING to the lyrics.

Suddenly I started to get very ANNOYED at the lyrics... Let me show you what I am talking about:

I ain't no hata or nothing
But he can't love you like I can
Trust me

Ooh, ooh, ooh

As the clock strikes twelve
I'm sitting here wondering how the hell
Did I let you leave
And baby I know that I did my share
Of things to deceive you
I'm just trying to get an understanding
Of what to do
Cause I'm half way going crazy
Girl they can't fade me

He can't love you like I love you
Baby you know it too
And you should never wanna be with a man
If he can't be a man
And do the things to you like I can

He can't love you like I love you
Baby you know it too
And you should never wanna be with a man
If he can't be a man
And do the things to you like I can

I stop, and I wait, and I think
That I never met someone to make me feel
Like I'm ready to love
So I gotta do what I gotta do
Just to keep you
Keep you here with me baby
Now I feel it's time for me to say
That I need you boo
And I can't go a day without your loving
Baby I can't live without you

I know you know
No matter if you want it baby
Ain't no ifs, or buts, or maybes
And I know that one day
You'll see that he can't really love you
Like I love you

He can't love you like I love you
Baby you know it too
And you should never wanna be with a man
If he can't be a man
And do the things to you like I can

He can't love you like I love you
Baby you know it too
And you should never wanna be with a man
If he can't be a man
And do the things to you like I can

He can't, he can't love you girl
He's never gonna love you girl
Like I love you girl

He can't, he can't love you girl
He's never gonna love you girl
Like I love you girl

He can't, he can't love you girl
He's never gonna love you girl
Like I love you girl

He can't, he can't love you girl

He can't love you like I love you
Baby you know it too
And you should never wanna be with a man
If he can't be a man
And do the things to you like I can
I have put the lyrics that really peeded me off in bold so you know what part I’m referring to throughout the post.

Let’s start with the first verse “I ain't no hata or nothing...” If you are not hating then why say what you are about to say anyways? Hmmm...

“And baby I know that I did my share of things to deceive you” What I am having trouble understanding here KNOW the hurt you have caused to the lady in question in the past yet you still have the cheek to basically come back and cause her further pain because you have finally come to your senses and realised what you had along?
Call me but that seems pretty messed up to me and it is probably the most selfish thing you do to someone you “claim” to love.
The famous old saying “You don’t realise what you have until it has gone.” springs to my mind here.

To add fuel to fire the third verse “He can't love you like I love you...” really just confirms the selfishness to the highest degree. How do you of ALL people know he won’t be able to love me better than you did?
I think he will probably do a BETTER job than you did...since he knew what he wanted and went after it. He SHOWED he cared! So...sorry if you think that but you had your chance and you WASTED it!

“I stop, and I wait, and I think that I never met someone to make me feel like I'm ready to love”, “That I need you boo and I can't go a day without your loving...Baby I can't live without you”
These lyrics have helped emphasis my argument and allow me to sum up what I have ranting about all this time which is basically...

As human beings, we sometimes tend to neglect what we want/need the most in our lives but when we lose it then we abruptly want it back. Like it’s our entitlement or something!

Unfortunately that is not always the case...We all have choices in life and we have to live with the consequences of these actions. If we realised we made a mistake and want to change it then we have to accept the fact that it’s not our choice to decide what happens anymore... I know it’s unfair but karma is a bitch!

Again I would like to emphasise how much I LOVE Jagged Edge but I just have a problem with the lyrics of this song because of the message it conveys to listeners...
If anything should be taken away from this entry it is that we need to careful how we treat the things we value in our lives because if we are not careful we will eventually LOSE it!

And if we are not lucky enough it may not come back to us...

Side note: I absolutely LOVED their concert yesterday (I would definitely do it again even if it was shorter than I hoped it would be...) but I was just slightly disappointing that they only played a small selections of their classic hits.
Also loved their rendition of Keith Sweat's Right and a Wrong Way
WARNING: There is someone who sounds like a strangled cat please try and ignore them!

Can Love and Logic Not Exist Together?

I was on Facebook recently when I saw the status below:

“I guess loving someone is a continuous battle between the heart and mind - logic and emotion. The best way to handle it? Balance the two.”

I agreed with it completely
UNTIL I saw the following respond someone put to it:

Love and logic can’t be in the same isn't logical, when you try and make it logical you end up twisting the love, for yourself and the person receiving it...then you get left with nothing but emptiness and resentment.

It got me thinking...can love and logic not exist together?

But I think it has to...I know you can’t make love
“logical” but why shouldn’t love and logic exist together?
After all isn’t it the logical thing to have the heart and mind working together...right?

Isn’t that what protects us from getting hurt in the end?

However I strongly believe the status
HAS to true when it come to matters of the heart because if you are not logical when it comes to love you can end up getting hurt if you are not careful. This hurt and pain can lead to heartache which as we all know can equal to you becoming resentful.

Resentment is a terrible thing to have. It can turn us into bitter individuals because of ONE PERSON’s mistake. I know letting go of the past is an extremely difficult to do (I’m still battling it myself) BUT the more we hold onto the past the harder it is for us to move on with our lives, it can also cause us to rob OURSELVES of true love and happiness from someone who genuinely deserves it.

Remember going through life a bitter lemon
is always going to turn us sour people with empty lives.
“When you hold resentment toward another, you are bound to that person or condition by an emotional link that is stronger than steel. Forgiveness is the only way to dissolve that link and get free.” – Catherine Ponder

Logical thinking is what keeps us sane in relationships. It is as simple as that.

If we didn’t go into relationships with our eyes WIDE open then we would get hurt... we HAVE to be logical in certain situations otherwise we would ACCEPT behaviour that is unacceptable and tolerate things we never thought we would allow another human being to do to us for the sake of “love.

You have to draw the line somewhere and when doing this “love” doesn’t come into it!

A classic example of what I’m talking is being in a relationship with someone that you “love” even though they
DON’T deserve your love!

When it comes to this person you let your heart (which can mislead you) control the situation and not your mind... it is like no matter what this person does to you, you stay hoping things will go back to the way they use to be UNFORTUNATELY that is not the case... If it was meant to work out then it would.

“What's meant to be will always find a way.” – Trisha Yearwood

“If you love someone let them go. If they stay away then they were never yours to begin with. If they come back then they are yours to keep.” – Unknown

In some circumstances you have to cut your losses and

You have to be logical otherwise reacting purely on emotions can have dangerous consequences...
The longer we as individuals try to separate these two essential elements for the sake of “love” instead of letting them work in harmony with one another (like they are meant to) the longer you will continue to get hurt.

Love is a great thing to have but sometimes you just have to realise enough is enough!
If you willing to accept things that you usually
DETEST then ask yourself this...How much more can you take before you reach breaking point? And will it even be worth it in the end?

It is
ALL about balancing the two “the heart and mind - logic and emotion.” Allowing them to work in perfect harmony TOGETHER!

Depending on the situation (of course!) because sometimes you JUST have to act then think later.
But when you do need to use both (use your personal judgment to assess when this is necessary)
If you don’t it would like trying to force something that is meant to be together like bread and butter to be chalk and cheese which is IMPOSSIBLE!

If Fashion Was Porn, This Dress Would Be The Money Shot!

First I would like to apolgise to all my readers (if I have any..) for my random disappearing act but between working full time, birthdays and the madness that is my life I've been neglecting my blog of late. So sincere apologises for now and the near future as it will (probably) happen again!

I know I am like a week behind of this but oh well that what happens when you such a procrastinator!

The Oscars...

As most of us know The Oscars is an important evening to give credit to actors, directors etc on the extraordinary work they have done but personally I'm more concerned with the dresses...

Here are my favourites from the 82nd Annual Academy Awards.

Gabourey Sidibe in Marchesa - The title of this blog entry was inspired by Miss Precious when asked to describe her dress by Ryan Seacrest. Big girls are doing it too!

Jennifer Lopez in Armani Prive
Miley Cyrus in Jenny Packham
Queen Latifah

Cameron Diaz in Ocsar de la Renta

Kristen Stewart in Monique Lhuiller

Penelope Cruz in Donna Karan

Demi Moore in Atelier Versace

Sandra Bullock in Marchesa
- Well done Sandra! I can't wait to watch the film when it comes out in the UK.

Zoe Saldana in Givenchy and Carey Mulligan in Prada - These two dresses have me on the fence, its like they are both so right yet so wrong. I'm loving the top half of Zoe's dress and I LOVE Carey's dress but it would have worked better without the asymmetric line.

Meryl Streep in Chris March and Helen Mirren in Badgley Mischka - Showing that with age you can only get better. Hard to believe they are in their 60's!

I'm back and loving it!

Oh I forgot to add... well done to Mo'Nique for winning Best Supporting Actress you really deserved it!

To go from doing comedies that create (sometimes painful) belly laughs to playing such an emotional twisted character shows your diversity as up and coming actress (just don't forgot the comedies altogether.)

The Silence Has Been Broken!

Tiger Woods has FINALLY released a public apology to his family, friends and sponsors over the allegations made against him and his infidelity.

I think it was a very COURAGOUS thing for him to do seeing as he has been under dramatic FIRE since the stories came to light.

(I still think it is debatable if even half of those women who came out with tell all stories about him are real or not. I'm just saying! But that is a separate blog entry altogether and we would be here for a while!)

But for those that have seen it... was it just me or did the whole thing seem as staged as Chris Brown’s apology after the Rihanna drama?

It is just the whole speech sounded pretty robotic like he had been rehearsing that speech that he was reading for like what...FORVER?!

Don’t get me wrong a man got to do what a man got to BUT I think it would have worked out better in his favour if it had come from a genuine place and it may have hushed some of his critics about his speech?!

Just a thought...

But if I was him and I had that much to lose financially (minus what he has already lost...) then I would definitely do the same!

Side note: I think I'm going to contradict myself with my opnion below seen as I want a career in Journalism but hey...such as life!)

And everyone makes mistakes (even celebrities despite how the Media can (sometimes) make them out to be SUPER HUMANS who never make mistakes or are incapable of doing wrong!)
What he says near the end of his “authentic” speech really summaries what he and everyone should take from a bad situation:

“It’s not what you achieve in life it what you overcome” – Unknown

I say well done for the effort Tiger!

And for those that haven’t seen it here you go:

Side note: The longer version is available on YouTube for anyone who may be interested!

There is one thing that I have realised about this generation and that is we don’t understand the meaning of a true relationship. I’m not talking about the sugar coated lovey dovey FALSE kind of stuff we all see through the Media nowadays.

I’m talking about the old fashioned love our great grandparents and grandparents had...The without a second thought for themselves UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.

In this day and age that we are growing up it seems like we have lost that sense of what it really means to be in a loving, fulfilling relationship with another human being.

“Your choice in partner is an extension of who you are, where you are going and where you want to be in life so who you choose to be with represents who you truly are as an individual.” – Gemma Ama

I have a friend let’s call him Mr. Chupa Whupa for this entry...

There was a stage when Mr. Chupa Whupa was in a relationship that he no longer wanted to be but he chose to stay in it. He justified it to me by claiming that he cared deeply about the female in the question and if he stayed with her things would eventually work between them. In his words....“He would ‘grow’ to love her”
Since when was love about forcing yourself to feel something that wasn’t there to begin with?

Pardon me if I’m wrong here but if a relationship isn’t working what makes you think staying in it without discussing the problems within it will make it any better? The above statement from him made me realise that people our age group don’t understand what being in a real profound relationship is and also we are starting to act older than we actually are but that is a separate issue altogether...All the same it is still wrong!

Realistic why do need to be in a relationship just for the sake of it at our age?

It doesn’t and NEVER WILL make any sense but it seems like a very common and recurring issue in a large majority of relationships with individuals in the age group of 16 to 20 year olds. (And sometimes even older!)

One thing about Mr. Chupa Whupa is he doesn’t like being alone. I don’t know why but he is just one of those people who always NEEDS to be in a relationship even though his reasons for actually being in it are more for his benefit rather than if he actually likes the girl or not.
I’m sure we all know someone like that.

Another thing I’m trying to work out is why some of us always feel the strong desire to constantly be in a relationship even when it is purely for the sake of having COMPANIONSHIP from another individual...Is it the influence of society, a personal issue that some of us have to deal with or the fear of being alone?

But my question is what is so wrong with being alone?

Especially at this age!?!... in fact this time in our lives is the PERFECT TIME to EMBRACE being alone!
Before all the responsibilities of getting older come along...Working, bills and children!

It’s scary to think that we don’t really get to enjoy the most of our carefree lives properly anymore.
(That is a completely new blog entry in itself..)

If there are people out there who manage to be by themselves (sometimes by choice) for most if not all their lives then why can’t we as young adults manage to be alone until we are genuinely ready to commit to another human being PROPERLY and whole heartily?

“You cannot be lonely if you like the person you're alone with.” - Wayne W. Dyer

We need to remember that we cannot have a fulfilling relationship with others until we like the person we are and have established a meaningful PERSONAL relationship with ourselves FIRST!
“Personal relationships are the fertile soil from which all advancement, all success, all achievement in real life grows.” – Ben Stein

It’s just something to think about...

We Are the World...25 Years Later

I know I'm probably behind with posting this up but I been busy and still trying to get my head around this Blogger thing but anyways...

I've wanted to hear the re-make of the song ever since I heard it was being made.

And it has FINALLY come out with a video and come out with a video and I LOVE IT!

What really touched me is the little boy in the blue t-shirt "captured in the beginning of the video, standing on the roof of a dilapidated house, smiling and waving."

I still unsure about the need for the collective rap written by Will.I am but I really like Kayne West's addition. As well as Wyclef Jean used of the official language.

I'm loving the way since the diseaster struck everyone has done what they can to help those in need.

Like Jamie Foxx says right at the beginning of the video "do more than just watch but to reach deep in your heart and give anything you can". They may be in need but they shouldn't be looked at with pity but rather like great prospect with how they will overcome this tragedy...

Remember every little counts!

Peace, love and hairgrease! (I ALWAYS wanted to use this phrase but most of my lovely friends have told me not to...can't think of why!?
So seeing as this is my blog... I can do and SAY what I want :P)

I LOVE the power of freedom of speech!

On that note..sorry for the delay with postings etc like I said now getting my head around Blogger plus working so forgive me but stay with me BIG changes will be happening in the next couple of months with my blog and that.

Happy Valentine's Day

I know it is the day of LovE and all that BUT I think more importantly its Pancake Day on TUESDAY!!

My chance to enjoy sugar coated loveliness without the guilt of feeling like a greedy so and so :D (Like I need a reason anyways...)

Sounds great to me!!

Side note: This blog entry has absolulutely nothing to do with the fact that I don't have a Valentines but more with the fact that I think Valentines has become a commericialised EXCUSE for the capitalist materalistic society that we live in to use it as a way to make money from poor unsuspecting souls who have been disillusioned by LovE!

And if there are 364 other days in the year...why limit it to one day?!?(if you "love" and "care" about someone then show it any and every day of the week!) Just because we have been TOLD to do so by society?

Side note: Please note gifts would kindly and grateful be accepted should anyone feel the need to get me the Pandora bracelet and Gucci shoes I been lusting after even since I laid my EYES on them!
I'm against CAPITALISM not gifts =)

I'm LOVING This Song!!!

For some reason I'm not the BIGGEST fan of Miss RiRi.

The look of
SHOCK on SOME of your faces right now - PRICELESS!

The video makes a change from some of her more recent stuff which has been quite dark.

Rihanna's comments on her new video: "It's completely different from any other video I've shot before. A lot of my videos are really dark and edgy and tough. "Rude Boy" is more playing along the lines from my roots. We used a lot of colour, but also the costumes were very Jamaican dance-hall-queen type."
"It's p
retty freakin' cool."

I AGREE with you!

It is also directed by Melina Matsoukas who also directed her "Hard" video.

Her sense of style and eye for
HION is still LOVELY! Loving the gold robe chains (still need to purchase my own...)

Enjoy the video =)

Two words: Absolutely beautiful!

You Have to Get Burnt Before You Learn!

You must be thinking what the hell is she going on about?

Following a conversation I had with a dear friend of mine about a certain situation I was in she made the statement above. The statement stuck with me as I was slightly confused by what it meant (and kind of wishing it wasn’t true). This a rough outline of the statement she made since I can’t remember it all!

“He can tell how many times he doesn’t like what you are doing but at the end of the day it is up to you! Just look at how many times I’ve told you I don’t want to carry on in this situation but have you listen to me? *Long agreed pause* Yeah and that is because at the end of the day you are not going to listen to me. I have given you my opinions on this situation numerous times but you
HAVEN’T listened. When you want to get out of this situation then you will. It’s as simple as this have to get burnt before you learn!”

It wasn’t until I reflected on my own situation that I really understood what my friend meant by the statement. Hence where the inspiration for this blog came from.

You see no matter how many times someone tells you about how bad a certain situation/ person is for you (whatever it maybe in your case...pick as appropriate)...

There is only one explanation for that and that is...YOU HAVE TO GET BURNT BEFORE YOU LEARN!

What I mean by this is you can be told various different times by various different people what you should do on a certain situation but you WON’T listen (trust me I’m one of those types of people myself).

Let me use relationships as an example. When we like someone and everyone around us is telling us he/she isn’t good for us, we still do what we want regardless. I think the reason for this is as human beings we like to think that people can change and that maybe this time round things will be different.

Unfortunately not.

Reality check...You can’t make someone change until they are
WILLING and READY to be changed themselves. I know its sucks but life’s a bitch.

“If life’s a bitch, better make everyday your wife” – Fabolous

I know this is hard to deal with. (I’m still getting my head around myself unfortunately)
We’ve all heard the saying “if you love someone let them go and if they come back...” That saying is similar to this. I know this is hard to do when we love someone and want to protect them from harm but you have to let go. Sometimes you have to allow them to make their own mistakes and learn from it. That is the best thing for people sometimes.

Letting them make these mistakes makes them a

The most important thing is you are there for them should things not work out the way they planned to with whatever it is you told them not to do.
And remember....they are probably feeling upset enough without you having to say “I told you so”

WON’T help them and 9 times out of 10, they will probably realise that you was right and appreciate the fact that you didn’t say (in my opinion) unhelpful phrase.

And ... if it is you who has to get burnt before you learn, please remember:

1.Making mistakes are a part of’s what you
LEARN from these mistakes that the most important thing.
2.Never regret the decisions you make, they are what made you the person you are today!
3.Everything happens for a reason...

The following are quotes I love to read because they keep me positive and inspire me in difficult times. I hope they can have the same effect on you that they had on me =)

“Vivere senza rimpianti” which is Italian and translates to “To live without regrets” Unknown

“The longest journey begins with a single step.” Unknown

“Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can.” Danny Kaye

Just Why?

I know Kelis has always been a bit OUT THERE but seriously this is taking the absolute biscuit! The only thing that strings to mind when I see this HORRIFIC excuse for an outfit is WHY? Oh why?

And don’t even get me started on this woman (Bai Ling) I have absolutely NO idea who she is but when I saw this picture the first thing that came to my mind was “Did she SERIOUSLY put all her dirty clothes from her holiday on her body instead of in the suitcase she is pulling along?!?”

Come on?

Just WHY did you do it guys?

Life is Precious...

I’m sure by now we have all by now heard the sad news about Haiti and the devastating effects of the earthquake on the country...These are individuals who had very little to begin with and have lost so much more now... It is so sad.

My thoughts are with those involved and I hope and pray the Lord gives the survivors and the families of those no longer with us the strength to get through their difficult time and also the will power to keep them going during their difficult recovery process.

The current spotlight of this heartbreaking situation has made me realise something that we as individuals (including myself) seem to forget sometimes and that is...

It seems in life we all get so consumed with our own lives that we seem to forget that there is a world out there that is far more complex and hard to understand in comparison to our own “complicated” lives. (And I use that word loosely)

There are millions of people who go through things EVERY single day that we couldn’t even possibly imagine going through...Just makes you think...does it?!

Tragedies such as the Haiti earthquake and Hurricane Katrina should be a time for us to reflect and allow us to
REMEMBER the IMPORTANT things in lives. Our families/friends, our health etc. We should be grateful for what we have, I know sometimes this can be hard when everything seem to be going wrong in our lives and it all seems like it is getting too much for us to handle BUT we need to remember how much these individuals have lost and be happy and thankful for what we have!

We should count the blessings we have in our lives...

We also need to accept the fact that life is hard but it is how we deal with it that counts. When we overcome the hardships that occur we must always remember:

“That which does not kill me can only make me stronger.” – Tupac Amaru Shakur

By learning to take all the negativity that has and will continue to try to come into our lives we can generate something positive.
If we had to learn to crawl before we walked then it can’t be that much harder to change our approach to the problems that appear in our lives...Sounds pretty simple now...right?

As human beings we need to look at all the hardships that have EVER come our way and USE IT to help us move forward with our lives with a better frame of mind and spirit.

When things are hard we must remember the most important thing:

We should be grateful for everything we have as some many people don’t even have the small things we seem to take for granted.

There are always going to be obstacles that will make it difficult for us to cope after we have stumbled but with OUR inner strength and courage you CAN get through whatever life may throw at your way.

I’m not saying it is going to be an easy and simple process but if you believe in God (or any other higher power) turn to them to help you get through it.

In the following biblical extracts God shows how he is continually there for us.

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you" (Isaiah 43:2)

Even when we think he is not.
“I will never leave or forsake you”
(Hebrews 13:5)

The sooner we start believing that everything happens for a reason the easier it is for us to start
EMBRACING the mistakes we make...We learn the most and grow from the choices (good or bad) that we make in our life!

I’m sure when you made that particular decision it seemed right at the time... “Welcome those big, sticky, complicated problems. In them are your most powerful opportunities.” – Ralph Marston

The quote below is my
FAVOURITE and I agree with it completely...

"I believe everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when their right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.” - Marilyn Monroe

Put yourself in someone’s shoes and you will see just how LUCKY and PRECIOUS your life is!

Counting the blessings you been given in life because not everyone is so fortunate.

Some things that happen in our lives are just small things but are made far more complicated than they actually need to be...
YOUR LIFE is what you make it!
